April 27, 2006

I added Collard Greens to my morning Green Lemonade this morning for some extra calcium. I read online that we need 1000 milligrams of calcium a day. I drank close to 30 ozs of Green Lemonade this morning.

I am also trying to get my 80 year old father in law to drink the juice too. He's old school and wonders if my husband and I are getting enough nourishment from not cooking.
It's amazing how wonderfully full you feel from drinking enzymes!

Our new juicer we got at Bed Bath And Beyond is amazing! It has over 800 watts of power and is beautiful stainless steel. I recommend it highly if you're interested in starting to juice! It can juice an entire apple at once! Also, its not very noisy at all! I don't wake anyone up with it!

April 26th, 2006

Today I needed as much brain power as possible! So, I had my everyday morning Green Lemonade for breakfast and 30 minutes later, I ate 2 Granny Smith apples. Boy, were they yummy! I also had a sweet date and shared a little bit of it with my parakeet. He loved it too.

I needed the extra brain power because its finals week, and also because I had another of 3 interviews this week for the same job. I pray I get it!

After my presentation at lunch, I had another apple and two grapefruits and a glass of green tea.
Before my last class, I had a salad made of Organic Romaine Lettuce, lemon juice, fresh peas and a little bit of my special garlic seasoning I made. I also had three slices of untoasted Ezekiel bread. It really hit the spot and made me sharp for my final Informatics class.

Monday, April 24, 2006 Raw Food Is Fun!

Going RAW has been the result of a progression towards being as healthy as I can. I really enjoy being different from everyone around me... especially healthwise.
Spring is such a beautiful time of year, and I love eating a wide variety of healthful fruits and vegetables that reflect the colors of the season.

Most of the time when I tell people that I eat only raw foods, they look at me like I love to crack eggs open like Rocky and slam em. Although I love Rocky, GROSS!
Really, to me, there is nothing better than sitting on the front porch with my husband and sipping a glass of freshly juiced celery, lemon, ginger, apple and kale and watching my little maltese running through the dandelions after the kitties.
I've never been happier. I've never had more clarity. I've never felt more creative! I believe it is all do the the nourishment my body receives from the REAL FOODS I eat.
